Golden retrievers

Devon Goldens

Hi! We are Devon Goldens

Purebred Canadian Field line variety golden retrievers.

About Us

We breed to CKC standards, and our puppies are family raised for pet homes. Our mama dogs are Bailey and Dakoda (Koda), and our stud Mr. Miagi (Miggy) lives with his own family. Our puppies have early introduction to crate training, potty training, basic obedience, leash skills, sound desensitization, and a positive introduction to water. They come with their first round of shots, up-to-date deworming, a vet check, and a microchip. I am a certified canine behaviorist specializing in behavior modification, which is what led me to breed balanced, family-friendly companions. Puppy owners have lifetime access to ask training-related questions.

FAQ

How much do they cost?

Contact us for current pricing.

Are they CKC registered?

We breed to CKC standards without breeding within the registered lines, as those lines can be very prone to cancer. Are they still purebred? Yes, absolutely.

How can we pick one when we haven't met them yet?

You place a deposit before 4 weeks of age, then pick your puppy on pick day (around 4–5 weeks) in order of deposit date. By then, their individual personalities are starting to show, so you can choose the pup that feels like the best fit for your family. Until pick day, you can still feel confident in a great outcome: they are purebred golden retrievers and will display golden retriever traits - happy-go-lucky, sweet, snuggly, and goofy. There will still be individual differences. One pup might be more barky, another more brave, another more observant. One might sleep on their back, and another may want to be king of the snuggle pile. That is all okay.

When can we meet them?

After 4 weeks of age if you have put down a deposit. We do not allow non-owners to meet the puppies in order to minimize the risk of sickness being brought in.

What is the process of picking a puppy?

Place a deposit any time before the puppies are 4 weeks old. We will set a pick day around 4–5 weeks of age, when their personalities are starting to show. Families pick their puppy in order of deposit date (first deposit picks first, second picks second, and so on). This gives everyone a chance to choose based on personality rather than picking sight-unseen earlier. If you are the only family who has not yet picked, you will receive the remaining puppy available on pick day.

What will the puppies come with?

All puppies are vet checked, microchipped, up to date on shots and dewormer, and come with a puppy basket containing: - goodies - their microchip pamphlet - a contract copy - vet records - a blanket smelling like home - a "raising a puppy" guide written by us - their tiny newborn collars so you can see how much they have grown

What is puppy pickup day like?

Puppy pickup day includes signing the puppy contract (including the promise to spay/neuter), making final payment, receiving your puppy basket, and bringing your new best friend home. Please bring your puppy's new collar with a name tag, plus a leash.

What can you tell us about their health?

At the seven-week vet check, puppies receive their first round of shots (part of a set of three), are up to date on dewormer, and are microchipped. For microchips, puppies are registered to us as primary owners to help prevent them from ending up in shelters, and new owners are registered as secondary. Both parents have a clean bill of health and are up to date on all requirements. Anything that happens while the puppy is with us, or is caused by their stay with us, is covered by us.
